Technologies
The iconic Campagnolo G3 geometry challenges the conventional spoke configuration of road bike wheels. Groups of three straight-pull parallel spokes are arranged in a 2:1 ratio. Having twice as many spokes on one side allows G3 technology wheels to achieve perfect tension balance, increasing stiffness and improving power transfer. An iconic and unique design that helps absorb loads while reducing weight. The G3 lacing also positively affects the riding experience: the original triplet pattern reduces perceived vibrations by minimizing micro-deformations of the rim under tension and its response to road stresses. The G3 geometry is designed with optimized solutions for the front and rear wheels. The front wheel has a higher number of spokes on the disc side to absorb braking loads. At the rear, these same loads are transferred to the doubled spokes on the cassette side through the monolithic hub shell: an insight that allows it to work both during braking and power transfer while pedaling. G3 lacing is present on Bora WTO, Bora Ultra WTO road wheels, the Shamal family wheels, and all aluminum wheels in the Campagnolo collection.
N3W, acronym for NEXT 3 WAYS, is a patented freehub body standard engineered to accommodate 11, 12, and 13-speed cassettes starting at 9, 10, and 11 teeth, while maintaining compatibility with older 9 and 10-speed cassettes. To make it compatible with all current 11-tooth starting cassettes, simply use the N3W ring (ring + lockring kit code AC21-N3W) which restores its length to match that of the classic freehub body. N3W is directly compatible with the new Campagnolo cassettes starting at 9 and 10 teeth. N3W features the same spline profile as the Campagnolo classic freehub body but with significant weight savings thanks to a length 4.4 mm shorter. The N3W Light version, featuring an aerospace-quality aluminum hub shaped with optimized geometries, offers maximum torsional stiffness and performance control. Special Campagnolo machining shapes a patented Next 3 Ways freehub body with unmatched smoothness and lightness. The N3W freehub body is found on carbon wheels for road bikes such as Bora WTO, Bora Ultra WTO, Hyperon Ultra, and Shamal Carbon.
