SmartCompound Compound
Decades of success in Motocross and Rally World Championships have led Pirelli engineers to develop an innovative compound, the SmartGRIP Compound for the Scorpion™ MTB range, combining two opposite characteristics: the SmartGrip Compound for Scorpion™ MTB, combining two opposite characteristics:
- Tear resistance, for maximum mechanical grip in dry conditions and at the same time maximum puncture resistance
- Chemical grip on wet surfaces, so you don’t have to worry about rain and muddy, slippery trail sections
The compound used is the result of an intense research and development process that has achieved absolute performance in both dry and wet conditions. Optimized designs for terrain consistency disregard weather conditions, maximizing the effectiveness of the various tread block geometries present in the Scorpion™ MTB range, for truly uncompromising performance. With the Pirelli Scorpion™ MTB range, it is no longer necessary to change tires based on weather conditions, but simply focus on the consistency of the terrain you usually face. The choice of a single-compound solution offers high adhesion in both dry and wet conditions consistently, even when the tread blocks begin to wear down.

ProWall Structure
ProWALL is a sidewall reinforcement technology that improves protection against punctures and handling even at low pressures. The additional nylon fabric layer on the carcass sidewalls improves not only protection from cuts and pinch flats but also the stability of the entire structure, allowing better handling and more precise cornering, both essential to enhance your offroad riding experience. All this without compromising weight and rolling efficiency, making ProWALL a perfect solution for both cross-country racing and aggressive trail and enduro when paired with different carcass structures, respectively 120 tpi and 60 tpi.
