ELEVEN went further by developing its BIBIP RACEEL tire with a new 30C width and a special quadruple longitudinal central tread and double shoulder sculpting to break the water cushion and allow sufficient contact area between the tread and the road surface. Advantages of 30C:
· The wider tire is faster because less energy is lost in tire deformation and the ground contact patch does not increase in size but becomes wider, which means improved cornering grip.
· The tire deforms less, so it rolls more smoothly. Rolling resistance depends on the energy absorbed during rolling.
· If the tire flexes too much, internal friction generates energy loss (the tire heats up), which also increases rolling resistance.
· With high-profile wheels, rim stiffness can be compensated by the larger tire size.
· Reduces the risk of punctures caused by tire compression between rim and road surface on rough terrain.
